Individual

When someone chooses to meet with me for individual therapy, there might be a numbers of hopes and goals within the course of therapy.  These may include: ridding oneself of symptoms like anxiety and depression; feeling more self confident; the desire to learn and increase one’s ability to cope with stress; wanting to have healthier and more fulfilling relationships; the list goes on.

Expectations in therapy, on the client’s part, are also in order.  These may include: a desire to be heard and understood; an expectation of being treated with respect; a desire for open and honest feedback provided in a sensitive and thoughtful manner; and a sense of being emotionally supported during times of fear, self doubt and lack of hope.  These are important aspects of working with clients which I attend to during therapy sessions.

Typically, a client begins individual psychotherapy by meeting with me for one session per week.  As needed and requested, more sessions could be added.  The frequency of session attendance and how long someone continues therapy is up to each client.  I will provide my clinical opinion and expertise so that each client and I address the question of time in therapy in a collaborative manner.
